We left Lake City a little later than planned, we had spent three nights here and leave rested and ready to go…

As you head for Cinnamon Pass it becomes clear where Lake City gets its name….a Lake sits above the town and very nice it is too.

You leave the Lake half way around….

…and then head for Cinnamon Pass, at first its then usual gravel roads….

….then as you gain altitude things get more spectacular, around every corner is another reason to stop and take pictures.

The riding is more challenging here, much different to Engineer Pass, our bikes are heavy and full of fuel, but manage really really well, with all this weight you could do with a slightly lower 1st gear but a better solution would be to get rid of 10Kg of stuff we dont need (we have been saying this for weeks)

The current plan is to send a parcel home at the next big town, but this takes time out of the day so will maybe wait until Vancouver.

We meet up with three guys on KLR650s, these are the first TAT riders we have met in over 4000 miles since New York…..We exchange TAT experiances with Anthony and his friends..and “see saw” each other for the rest of the day.

After Cinnamon Pass comes California….…the corkscrew….and finally Ophir PassPictures just dont show how steep the trails are and the surface changes constantly to keep your attention. We leave the trails and head to the nearest town for food.Colorado is in my opinion one the most stunning places, not just in the USA but on the planet….no really, a vast area managed but not spoilt with stunning views around every corner (and we just scratched the surface)
