Harley Davidson MT350e
This motorcycle was already restored and road registered by the previous owner in Brighton, most of the work was already done to a high standard for long distance travel.
I eventually went with the Husqvarna 701 for my trip, purely because of the most extreme sections of the "Old Summer Road" and the limited time available, in hindsight if time was not an issue I would have gone on this bike, for one thing I know it would have been repairable anywhere in the world, great thing hindsight eh!

Harley Davidson MT350 Adventure
The base motorcycle is the Harley Davidson MT350e. This bike was in active service with the British Army (2nd Parachute Regiment) up until September 2010. This was the last of the tendered design motorcycles and come as standard with high quality components including a Rotax 4 valve engine with safe cambelt, Ohlins Rear and Marzochi front suspension, magnesium alloy wheels, these bikes built to last and to be repaired easily anywhere with basic tools.
from 2010 this bike was in storage, small batches being auctioned by Walthams in Grantham, it was was auctioned in 2013 with Army release papers and road registered in 2013
Un-restored motorcycles were neglected by the Army and Walthams, are not difficult to fix however its surprising how much you end up spending when you look back! Guess this is the same with most restorations and that’s without taking into account your time.
