The bikes travel ahead of us in late April, we are using specialist freight company MotoFreight, who are based near to Heathrow Airport. The bikes get a 10 day head start to us and travel created with all our gear. We travel out on the 5th of May and with luck meet up again with the bikes in New York on the 7th of May, simples……
Once we have cleared customs we head West across the Trans American Trail, a 5,000 mile route across America that is mostly off road. At the end of June we hope to be in Vancouver where the bikes can get serviced and any repairs are taken care of.
We transit to Russia via South Korea, so the bikes are back in crates again and we travel together by Air Canada to Korea, then ferry to Vladivostok. The next month sees us head north then East to Magadan. From here we travel West again..
During August we head into Mongolia and by the end of September will be entering Russia briefly again as we head into Kazakstan.
From Kazakstan the route takes us through the stans into Georgia.
The countries come quicker now almost a blur as we head west into the EU.
That’s the plan, 20,000 miles, 205 days, what the reality will look will i am sure be a different story!
